Viktor & Rolf

Je n'ai pas eu l'occasion d'assister au défilé Viktor & Rolf mais j'ai trouvé le concept très intéressant.

Viktor et Rolf ont déshabillé Kristen McMenamy qui était vêtu d'une quinzaine de manteaux, vestes... pour habiller les mannequins qui défilaient. Les constructions des vêtements avaient donc été spécialement conçu à cet effet et les systèmes de fermeture, lacets et autres étaient très ingénieux. 

De plus, le show était incroyablement bien réglé car avec une telle prise de risque, il y aurait pu avoir des "embouteillages" sur le podium. Je me demande le nombre de répétitions qui ont été nécessaires à monter un show tel que celui-ci. 

I didn't have the occasion to go to the Viktor&Rolf show but I found, after watching the video, the concept very interesting. 

Viktor & Rolf undressed Kristen McMenamy who was dressed by almost fifteen coats and jackets... to dress the models who were walking the runway. The structure of the clothes was especially thought for the show and the closures, laces and else were very ingenious. 

Furthermore, the show was incredibly well set because with such a risk taking, it could have been some congestion on the runway. I wonder how much repetitions were needed to set a show like this one.

Finalement, ça me rappelle en quelques sortes le show S/S 1999 d'Alexander McQueen où la robe de Shalom Harlow était taggé par des robots. Bon peut-être que vous aurez du mal à faire le rapprochement mais regardez les deux shows et vous comprendrez sûrement où je veux en venir. Certes, le concept n'est pas vraiment identique mais il y a une certaine symétrie à l'image, Viktor & Rolf et les deux robots, la plaque tournante... 

En tout cas, ils nous ont livré un très beau show.

Finally, it makes me think of the S/S 1999 show of Alexander McQueen where the Shalom Harlow's dress was tagged by robots. Well, you may not understand the link between the shows but watch them and you must understand what I'm saying. Certainly, the concept is not the same but there is a symmetry, Viktor & Rolf and the two robots, the turntable... 

In all cases, they showed us an amazing show.
